Paints: Old Village acrylic- and oil-based paints
Stulb Paints produces exceptional-quality paints manufactured
in the spirit of American folk art of the 18th, 19th, and 20th
centuries.
Application instructions:
- Fill nail holes with Fix Wood Patch. Do not use plastic
wood.
- Sand specific areas with 120 sandpaper to clear
blemishes.
- After taking care of holes and blemishes, sand the entire
piece uniformly with 180-grade sandpaper. Finer sandpaper
or steel wool should not be used as they polish the
surface off too smoothly.
- Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
- Apply one or two coats of primer as needed.
- Once the sealer has dried, sand the piece lightly with a
3M sanding pad or 600-grade sandpaper to smooth the
surface.
- Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
- Stir the paint thoroughly before beginning and
occasionally during application to ensure a uniform
color.
- Apply one or two coats of paint with a quality brush.
- If you decide to apply a second coat, please follow these
instructions:
- After the first coat has thoroughly dried, sand
the piece lightly with a 3M sanding pad or
600-grade sandpaper to smooth down the grain.
- Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
- Apply a second coat of paint and allow it to dry
thoroughly before use.
- An additional top coat is not necessary.
