Application instructions:

  1. Fill nail holes with Fix Wood Patch. Do not use plastic wood.
  2. Sand specific areas with 120 sandpaper to clear blemishes.
  3. After taking care of holes and blemishes, sand the entire piece uniformly with 180-grade sandpaper. Finer sandpaper or steel wool should not be used as they polish the surface off too smoothly.
  4. Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
  5. Apply one or two coats of primer as needed.
  6. Once the sealer has dried, sand the piece lightly with a 3M sanding pad or 600-grade sandpaper to smooth the surface.
  7. Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
  8. Stir the paint thoroughly before beginning and occasionally during application to ensure a uniform color.
  9. Apply one or two coats of paint with a quality brush.
  10. If you decide to apply a second coat, please follow these instructions:
    • After the first coat has thoroughly dried, sand the piece lightly with a 3M sanding pad or 600-grade sandpaper to smooth down the grain.
    • Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
    • Apply a second coat of paint and allow it to dry thoroughly before use.
  11. An additional top coat is not necessary.
