Mastercraft: Paint-stains
This product can be applied as a stain or as a paint.
Application instructions:
- Fill nail holes with Fix Wood Patch. Do not use plastic
wood.
- Sand specific areas with 120 sandpaper to clear
blemishes.
- After taking care of holes and blemishes, sand the entire
piece uniformly with 180-grade sandpaper. Finer sandpaper
or steel wool should not be used as they polish the
surface off too smoothly.
- Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
- Test the color on a concealed area that has been prepared
as directed to check that you have selected the proper
color.
- For the look of a stain, wipe or brush one coat of gel
and wipe off with a soft cloth, allowing the grain to
show through the coat.
- For a painted look, apply several coats of gel with a
foam brush.
- You can achieve maximum protection for the colors by
adding a top coat, making sure to allow the stain or pain
to dry overnight before applying.
- Since these colors will be affected by a regular urethane
finish, it is best to choose a water-based product that
will be less yellowing.
