Mastercraft: Polyutherane gel wipe-on stains
Application instructions:
- Fill nail holes with Fix Wood Patch. Do not use plastic
wood.
- Sand specific areas with 120 sandpaper to clear
blemishes.
- After taking care of holes and blemishes, sand the entire
piece uniformly with 180-grade sandpaper. Finer sandpaper
or steel wool should not be used as they polish the
surface off too smoothly.
- Remove dust with a vacuum and tack cloth.
- Since this product is a gel, it does not needed to be
stirred, as the color will not separate.
- Test the color on a concealed area that has been prepared
as directed to check that you have selected the proper
color.
- Apply the stain with a lint-free soft cloth or a brush in
a circular motion, one section at a time.
- Allow the stain to sit approximately one minute without
allowing it to dry, and wipe off with a soft cloth.
- Repeat steps eight and nine to each section of the piece.
- One coat of this Mastercraft stains is generally
sufficient, but, if you desire a darker tone, wait at
least four hours until the first coat has dried and apply
a second coat.
- Apply the final coat of stain to dry 12 to 24 hours
before applying the top coat of your choice.
